Sonya Walger, who played Penny Widmore on Lost, published her second novel Wifehouse on April 7, 2026, via Union Square Books. The story follows Annie, a middle-aged mother who chooses herself over every role tradition assigned her — told from five shifting perspectives across one year. Walger studied English literature at Oxford, and her debut novel Lion (February 2025) was longlisted for the 2026 Carol Shields Prize for Fiction. Wifehouse goes further: more structured, more plural. Literary Hub called it "a multifaceted portrait of a woman who walks away from every role society expected of her." Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video cast Walger as Freya in its two-season live-action God of War series, filming in Vancouver — a Vanir goddess, former Queen of the Valkyries, Odin's ex-wife. Variety headlined it as "Lost alum Sonya Walger cast in God of War." Penny spent years waiting for Desmond. Walger spent fifteen years building something else entirely.
