Abandoned

Shannon sees Walt. In the jungle. Soaked. He whispers something. Nobody believes her. Sayid does. He follows her into the night.

In flashback, Shannon's father dies in a car accident. Her stepmother cuts off the money. No inheritance. No help. Shannon is alone. Boone sends her money. She refuses it. Then accepts it. A cycle of dependence and broken pride.

In the jungle, Shannon runs toward Walt. Ana Lucia emerges from the other side. She sees a figure. She shoots. Shannon collapses in Sayid's arms. Dead. Ana Lucia realizes her mistake. Too late. Shannon never got the chance to become who she could have been.
