What Kate Did

Kate has kept a secret since the beginning. Her crime. The one the marshal was hunting her for. She finally confesses.

Flashback. Kate visits her mother. Her stepfather Wayne is drunk, violent, like always. Kate discovers the truth: Wayne isn't her stepfather. He's her biological father. Disgust. She douses the house with gasoline. Strikes a match. Boom.

Her mother doesn't forgive her. "I loved that man." Kate runs. On the island, she kisses Jack. Then runs to Sawyer. Kate doesn't know what she wants. Or rather, she knows but can't accept it.
