Sundown

The Man in Black sends a message to the temple. Through Claire. "Join me before sundown. Those who stay will die." Dogen doesn't move. He believes in the temple's protection.

Sayid confronts Dogen. "Why did you torture me? Why the poison?" Dogen tells his story. His son. A car accident. Jacob came. He offered to save his son. In exchange: Dogen would never see his child again. Dogen accepted. He's been protecting the temple ever since.

Sayid looks at Dogen. Then drowns him in the spring. With his hands. Slowly. Lennon runs toward him. Sayid kills him too. The temple's protection falls. The barriers collapse.

The smoke monster enters. Screams. Destruction. The temple Others are slaughtered. One by one. Kate was inside. Miles too. They flee. Claire sings in the middle of the carnage. Smiling.

Sayid walks out of the temple. Covered in ash. The Man in Black waits for him. With Claire. And an army of surviving Others. Sayid joins them. He's chosen his side. The darkness.

In the other reality, Sayid finds Nadia again. But she's married. To his brother. Sayid refuses to get close to her. He thinks he doesn't deserve happiness. Men threaten his brother. Sayid eliminates them. Coldly. The soldier never dies. Even in another world.
