Lighthouse
Season 6 · Episode 5 — Jeu de miroirs
Lighthouse
Jeu de miroirs
Jacob appears to Hurley. At the temple. "You need to take Jack somewhere." Hurley obeys. He convinces Jack to follow him. They walk. For a long time. They find a lighthouse. Ancient. Made of stone. No one had ever seen it.
At the top, a mirror. And a wheel with degrees. Names carved on each degree. The same ones from the cave. Jack turns the wheel to 23. Shephard. The mirror reflects something. His childhood home. The mirror shows the candidates' past. Jacob was watching them. Always.
Don’t forget — the world needs saving

Jack explodes. He shatters the mirror. "He watched me my whole life? Like a lab rat?" Hurley calls to Jacob. "Your plan backfired." Jacob smiles. "No. Jack just needs to understand how important he is. And he can't understand it if someone tells him."
In the other reality, Jack has a son. David. A teenager. They don't talk. Jack doesn't know how to be a father. Like his father before him. The cycle repeats.
Jack finds David in a music conservatory. David plays piano. Brilliantly. Jack didn't even know he played. He listens. Eyes full. "I'll always be proud of you. I don't want you to be afraid of me." The cycle breaks.
In the audience, a woman also watches. Dogen. The same Dogen from the temple. His son plays too. Two fathers. Two worlds. Connected.
