Bernard is fed up with waiting. Nobody does anything to get rescued. He decides to build a giant SOS on the beach. With rocks. Dozens of meters long. Visible from a plane.

Nobody helps him. Jin tries. Then gives up. The camp doesn't care. They've settled in. Bernard is furious. Rose, his wife, calms him down.

Rose has terminal cancer. Before the crash, Bernard had taken her to see a healer in Australia. It didn't work. But on the island, Rose doesn't suffer anymore. She's cured. She doesn't want to leave. Bernard understands. He sets down the stones. They stay.
