Everybody Loves Hugo

Ilana carries dynamite from the Black Rock. She explains the plan. Destroy the plane. Stop the Man in Black from leaving. She packs the dynamite in her bag. The bag explodes. Ilana is dead. Instantly. Like Arzt in season 1.

Hurley takes control. He blows up the rest of the dynamite. No more plan B. "I know what we have to do." He leads the group toward the Man in Black. Jack follows him. For the first time, Jack follows someone. Without arguing.

The Man in Black waits for them. Smiling. "Hugo." — "We came to talk." Face to face. The two camps. No violence. Not yet. Jack looks the Man in Black in the eyes. He looks like Locke. But he's not Locke.

Desmond is in a well. The Man in Black pushed him there. Why? Because Desmond isn't afraid. The Man in Black doesn't understand someone who isn't afraid.

In the other reality, Hurley is rich. Loved. A famous philanthropist. His mother wants him to get married. He's alone. Then a woman approaches him. Libby. "We know each other. I remember." Hurley doesn't understand. Libby is a patient in a psychiatric hospital. Like in the other life.

Hurley invites her to a picnic. On the beach. They eat. Libby kisses him. Flash. The island. The beach. Claire. The crash. Everything comes back. Hurley remembers. He cries. "I remember you." Desmond watches them from his car. He checks a name off his list. The awakening continues.
