Whatever Happened, Happened

Young Ben is bleeding. Sayid shot him. Jack refuses to operate. "This is the future Ben Linus. Maybe fate just did us a favor." Kate is shocked. He's a child.

Kate and Sawyer take the boy. They bring him to the Others. Richard Alpert receives them. He warns: "If I save him, he won't be the same. He'll forget everything. He'll be one of us." Kate agrees. She saves a child by creating the monster.

Flashback. Kate off the island. She returns Aaron to Claire's grandmother. Carole Littleton. She tells her the truth: Claire is alive. On the island. Kate returns to the island to find her. Not for Jack. Not for Sawyer. For Claire. And to make amends.
